Horus Temple
Located it the middle of Edfu, one of the many cities along the Nile in between Aswan and
Luxor, Horus Temple is a spectacular example of the splendor of ancient Egypt. Construction
began in 237 BC by Ptolomaios III and was completed in 57 BC. Most people reach this
destination by taking a cruise along the Nile headed down the river, making a stop of
approximately two hours. You will have to take a caliche, an Egyptian horse drawn
carriage, to the temple in order to make the most of your short visit there. Pay
attention to where you are in the temple because it is large enough to become somewhat
lost in its dark environs.
