Lixus

Overlooking the Loukkos River, Lixus are lonely ruins, in an advanced state of decay. Much of the ruins are still underground, protected from destructive visitors and locals who chopped out the face of Neptune in the main Forum mosaic. There are no guards or fees, just a broken and rusted gate with an old man occasionally haranguing visitors for a tip. You will likely have the entire place to yourself to enjoy and contemplate the existence of people who came before you, walking the same soil.
