Shanghai

Shanghai is the old Asian capital of the rich and famous, carrying an air of mystery in a fog of 19th century opium. The city is now a huge metropolis of spectacular architecture contrasting the industrial feeling of Beijing. The two cities physically couldn't be much different for the 13 million residents. Shanghai is far more western, more familiar to those from America or western Europe. Going down the back alleyways will erase that feeling however, squarely putting you back into the regular Chinese person's life.
