Hiroshima
This now million person city was thrust forever into the international scene on August 6,
1945 when the first atomic bomb was dropped. Over sixty years later, the city is
a bustling commerce capital in the region and features access to Miyajima by ferry and
several sectors of large industry. The people here are very friendly and quite
active in American activities like skateboarding, something you wouldn't expect in
Japan. The city is represented by the A-bomb dome but its future is only shaped by
and not controlled by its past.
