Denali National Park
The park was established at Mt. McKinley National Park on February 26, 1917 and was
designated a wilderness area and incorporated into Denali National Park in 1980. The
park is massive, encompassing 6 million acres of sub-arctic landscape. Home to the
highest mountain in North America (Mt. McKinley at 20,320 feet), this park is central to
the vision of Alaska - wild frontiers, large mammals and massive landscapes.
