California Highway 395
Meandering from the high desert of the Inland Empire through the Owens
Valley, past Mono Lake to Northern California, Highway 395 is the
second most spectacular highway next to Highway 1 along the California
coastline. Along Highway 395, one can access some of the most
remote portions of California, including Death Valley. The
highest mountain in the contiguous 48 states, Mount Whitney, also can
be reached along this corridor as well. Though a long drive
from the larger cities in California, traveling Highway 395 is well
worth the effort.
