Death Valley National Park
The name alone evokes images of unimaginable heat in the summer, baking a stark and
desolate desert landscape. In the summer temperatures can soar to over 120
degrees, however, in the more temperate season, late October to early May, Death
Valley National Park is a pleasant place to visit; a feast for the senses.
You might see a coyote walking alongside the road, sand dunes, a star-filled night or
perhaps strange rocks mysteriously skidding across a dry lakebed. The park is huge,
nearly 100 miles long north to south. If you have never seen an American desert
before, this is one to consider.
