Los Padres National Forest
Encompassing nearly two million acres, the Los Padres National Forest
is home to beautiful areas of coastal and central California. Stretching
from the western edge of Los Angeles county all the way up to the Big Sur
coastal area, this national forest is relatively vacant of visitors compared
to the other southern California forests. Though not as stark as the Sierras
to the east, this mountainous region receives a significant snow and rain load
over the winter and opens up to temperate weather throughout the rest of the year.
