San Diego
Home of sun and surf, San Diego boasts 300 sun days a year. You can virtually be guaranteed a sunny
stay in this city with strikingly blue skies compared to other large cities in America. This city is
an outdoor paradise, offering deserts, winter snow capped mountains, trails of every type, rock climbing,
and just about every water activity imaginable all within an hour drive of the city center. Balboa
Park is the crown park jewel of the city, being the center of art, museums and civic activities. Originally
master planned as the city's central park in 1903 and was the park for the Panama-California Exposition (1915-16),
celebrating the completion of the Panama Canal, Balboa Park lives on this day as the center piece of the city.
