Natchez

Located on the Mississippi, Natchez was the starting point for travelers heading back north after taking their cargo down the Mississippi River -- before paddle boats ruled the river. This quiet and pleasant town can be driven through in a few minutes if you are heading north on US 61. But, take the time to tour downtown Natchez and see the historic homes. You will be pleasantly surprised.
