Vicksburg
Vicksburg National Military Park is in the heart of Vicksburg,
Mississippi. This location is the site of one of the sieges
during the Civil War (or War Between the States, as Southerners call it). You
will be taken around a 16 mile driving loop, observing grassy hills, trees and
over 1,330 monuments, making this park one of the most heavily monumented in
the world. It is a place where Vicksburg citizens now ride their bikes
and run, a place where people once fought and died by the tens of thousands.
