Oregon is a land of industry, lumber, moisture and an unlikely sub-desert
region east of the Cascade Range. Portland is the largest city in Oregon
and is the center of commerce in the state, located on the Columbia
River, allowing international ocean going ships inland access. The
coastal region of Oregon is notoriously rainy, with Portland receiving
over 150 rain days a year. All of this moisture makes the area
wonderfully lush and vibrant.
